Manor House Toledo through Imagery
At Wildwood Reserve Metropark in Toledo, OH sits an old mansion of more than 30,000 square feet. The Stranahan family of Toledo held this as their home throughout most of the 20th century and it now serves as a museum to showcase the home in that state from years ago.
One of the highlights of visiting the Manor House is during the Christmas season where every room takes on a theme to show what life may have been like at that time during the holidays.
I've visited here a number of times throughout the years and below you can see some of the photos taken in the different settings around the house.

The Manor House is open for the holidays typically for a couple of weeks in early to mid December. This year (2025) it will be open from December 6th to the 14th, from 10am to 8pm daily.
On the weekends during that time there is a small area of crafters and vendors on site offering some nice holiday treats, as well as horse and carriage rides, but be warned those tend to sell out very quickly.
Exploring this house in the past has been a joy. Each room brings a different photography challenge, both in lighting and composition. You are often in a very small space with limited mobility. This provides the need for a wide-angle lens and typically a fairly wide-open aperture which can in-turn create its own challenges.
I have found that keeping things around the 20-35mm mark for a full frame lens is acceptable throughout the Manor House, but getting in tighter for some holiday fun is always great too! Enjoy these last photos from a few years ago below.

I will be making my way over to the Manor House again this year and will be sure to bring to you the results of the photos taken there once again. This is truly a must-see Christmas event if you are around the Toledo area for the holidays.
