Greenfield Village
In Dearborn, MI sits the historical Greenfield Village offering a trip back in time featuring influential buildings and farms of the the United States.
Just outside of Detroit, MI sits the city of Dearborn and within it a world-class historical working village, Greenfield Village. Part of the larger Henry Ford (which includes an inside museum, this outdoor working village, and an automobile plan), Greenfield Village is a trip back into history featuring some of the most influential buildings and farms in U.S. history.
This space allows for photographers to provide a wonderful, artistic painting of what life was like for some in the United States over a vast majority of its history.
The following display of photos was taken in the summer of 2025. I will be returning often to showcase what a wonderful attraction this is for those residing in, or visiting the area for any occasion.

As you can see in the images above, there are many different areas and times to explore throughout Greenfield Village. Two of my favorite photographs I have taken at this venue are shown first.
I caught a glimpse of the man walking in the bowler hat as he was making his way from a backstage break area back into the village to continue his character portrayal. Yes this working village employs hundreds of workers who dress up and work the farms, school houses, and other areas just as those would have who lived in the areas shown at the time represented.
The second above is one of my favorite photos taken in 2025. While it isn't mind blowing in any way, I just love the composition and story-telling, brining together two different areas of the village with the working farmhand and the train barreling down in the background.

One of my favorite photos of 2025 is the train pictured above. Having been to Greenfield Village many times over the last several years, I had always wanted to take something similar, but finally got around to it this year. Moving forward I'd love to try this shot again next summer, hoping to incorporate some of the steam barreling out of the smoke stack like in the farmhand picture higher up this article.
I switched over to a few new lenses in the last couple of months and all of these images are captured using a mix of those two new ones. A Viltrox Air 25mm and 56mm. Viltrox is a new name to me this year, and wow these lenses are sharp, light, cheap, and absolutely beautiful!
I can't recommend Viltrox enough, especially for anyone on a budget. Combined these two lenses were less than $400! I'm only now waiting for Viltrox to make a zoom lens next.
If you are interested in visiting Greenfield Village, or the Henry Ford Museum, check them out online or in person in Dearborn, MI today. A great place for history, learning, entertainment, and wonderful photography as well.
